FARM TOUR |
|
|
2) The CSA concept is simple: members "join" the farm and their membership fees help to cover the cost of running the farm. In return, members receive a weekly distribution of the freshest produce grown in harmony with nature without the use of toxic chemicals.
3) The season begins in June with ripe strawberries and the first greens.
4) Midsummer brings an abundance of tomatoes, eggplant, watermelon, peppers and other crops.
5) In the fall, member shares include winter squash, carrots, potatoes, and other crops.
6) In addition to the harvested share, members enjoy access to our pick-your-own crops, including strawberries, raspberries, green beans, herbs, and more.
7) Volunteers can harvest garlic, assist with distribution, prepare a tasting, or help in many other ways.
8) We encourage everyone to visit the farm and get to know where your produce is grown.
9) As a non-profit program of Hartford Food System, part of our mission is to increase access to high quality food. Through our partnership with the community social service organizations, we provided over 45,000 pounds to low-income residents of Hartford and Granby last year alone.
10) Visit the farm for community events, pick-your-own flowers, or just to enjoy the scenery!
